I don't have knowledge of ML but want to learn Data Science. How can I learn Data Science?

Machine Learning is only one of the ways to get into Data Science. First and foremost, you have to truly have the passion for this domain to succeed in it as it requires hard work and a lot of practice. You will already be halfway there. Besides Machine Learning, you could start pursuing Data Science with any of the following mentioned skills

  • Programming in Python

  • R programming

  • Statistics

  • Big Data Hadoop

  • SQL Database/Coding

  • Apache Spark

  • Multivariable Calculus & Linear Algebra

  • Unstructured Data 

  • Data Visualization & Communication

 If you have no prior experience whatsoever, you can start with Python as it is an easy language to learn. There are several resources that you can turn to successfully pursue Data Science. 

  • Advanced Degree - Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, and Computer Science programs

  • Online Learning Platforms – Intellipaat, Coursera, Udacity, codeacademy, etc. 

  • Certifications – Intellipaat, Simplilearn, Coursera, etc.

  • Bootcamps 

  • Communities like Kaggle – Kaggle is a Data Science community that hosts competitions where you can work with real-world data and provide actual business solutions to problems. It is seen as relevant, hands-on project work.

  • LinkedIn Groups – Join relevant groups to interact with the data science community members on LinkedIn.
