You need to get yourself familiar with the following technologies:
Mathematics: Statistics(frequentist & bayesian approach), linear algebra, and probability.
Machine Learning: Have the programming knowledge to perform data visualization, data collection, and heavy data analysis.
Analysis tools: Python, SAS, R, SPSS, and Julia, etc.
Business knowledge: you know how to propose a solution that will solve the business problem and good analyzing skills to understand the needs of the business in a better way.
You can start with maths, learn machine learning concepts, algorithms. Then you can implement what you’ve learned with a programming language. You could also take up projects from websites like Kaggle.
