Data Scientists are in high demand across the globe and are required in bigger organizations, and smaller startups, equally. But there is a huge difference in the way, Data Scientists work in both these firms. Because of the fundamental difference between a startup and a bigger firm. And that is the lack of finances in smaller startups, compared to bigger companies. This results in Data Scientists in a startup company will have to work more, compared to their counterparts in larger companies. That is an advantage for those professionals who wish to learn more, and want to scale up their skills in the domain because they sometimes must perform all sorts of work with the data, ranging from data collection, cleaning, processing to performing analysis, etc.

Whereas, if you are employed in larger corporations, you will be limited to a team, where you must perform the same task repeatedly, probably with the same team. And you will grow less but will eventually have less work. So, professionals who are looking for more ways to learn and progress, I recommend you pick a startup, rather than lunging directly into larger companies.

If you understood the basics well you will rise in the domain, very quickly, if you wish to learn, get trained, and be certified in Data Science, check out the Data Science certification course from Intellipaat.
