As a data scientist, I would give my younger version the following tips:

  • Learn and Unlearn: You always need to learn something and you have to unlearn some old things you know to learn new things

  • Keep Up to date: You should know new trends in the field you are working on to stay on top.

  • Learn to Communicate: you might have so much knowledge about your field but if you lack communication skills no one will recognize your talent.

  • Attend Conferences, Meet up and Speak: Attending conferences will help you gain knowledge and meet the people of your field with high knowledge and experience.

  • Read research papers: New things are found by researchers every day. Keep reading the research papers that are related to your field. But, the skill is to know when to use what. Try to apply these concepts and experiment.
