Adding a Linux host to Nagios requires you to have NRPS installed as an agent on your remote Linux host. NRPE plugin, also known as Nagios remote plugin extractor, allows you to monitor network devices or systems and also to keep track of CPU load, memory usage, etc. In order to install the NRPE plugin on your Linux host, follow the below steps:

·         Install all required dependencies

·         Create a Nagios user account

·         Install all necessary Nagios plugins

·         Extract all the installed plugins

·         Compile and install  the plugins

·         Install NRPE plugin

To be able to configure these servers, first, you need to have a deeper understanding of DevOps tools. If you wish to learn DevOps, then enroll in Intellipaat’s Online DevOps Certification Training Course.
