You can use RunBooks in the Azure Automation Resource to schedule the runtime for your Azure Virtual Machines as and when you want. This is to make sure you have more precise control over the running of VMs on schedule.

Follow these steps:

  1. Create your Azure Automation Resource account on the Azure Portal.
  2. Click on 'RunBooks Blade' in the New automation Resource
  3. Browse Gallery
  4. Search for 'Stop Azure v2 VMs' and 'Start Azure v2 VMs' and then import them.
  5. Schedule their timings as per your requirement.
