What is etcd in Kubernetes?

Could someone tell me what is ETCD in Kubernetes?

ETCD is where all the data is stored in Kubernetes. The data’s like configuration data, its state, metadata, etc. In Kubernetes, etcd allows every node from a cluster to access, read, and write data.
