Java is an Object-oriented programming language, applications made in Java can run in any Virtual Machine or a browser. Java is a standalone language, and its programs use more memory.

Whereas, JavaScript is an object-based scripting language that could be run in web browsers and servers with the help of Node.js. JavaScript requires less memory and integrated well with the HTML content and since it is used in web pages, it requires less memory.
