No OS is better than the others. Each OS has been created with a different approach and is there to address different problems. So, we can safely say that all operating systems are good for the customers that are meant for them. Therefore, your requirements decide which OS to go for. But, since we are discussing Linux vs Windows, allow me to give you some points in favor of Linux against Windows:

  1. Linux is faster than Windows, as it uses up very few resources at ideal conditions compared to Windows which is a resource-heavy OS.
  2. Linux is neat and clean, without much bloatware’s running in the background, which is not the case with Windows, as many software runs in the background.
  3. Windows is very easy to operate and any non-technical person will easily navigate through the OS to get his work done, and in case of any technical failure, Windows will attempt at rectifying the error, and if those actions don’t rectify, then you are left with no option other than to format the hard disk and re-install a fresh Windows OS. Which is not the case with Linux, if you encounter any problem for which you don’t have a solution, you can approach its huge active community which is determined to make Linux as functional as it could be.
  4. Linux is the safest among the two and is a secure option, because of the active community participation in making Linux one of the safest OS’s out there. And even if your Linux gets affected or corrupted, only a small portion is affected. Windows, on the other hand, has a name for easily getting corrupted with viruses, while Windows 10 has made serious improvements in the security domain, but still, the problem persists.
