What can deep learning algorithms do that traditional machine learning algorithms cannot do?

Are there things that deep learning can do but traditional ML can't?

Deep Learning algorithm works and  learn complex data in the  hierarchical manner by passing data through n numbers of layers, for example if you work with face recognition technology then it’s start first with the phase in which model learns about different edges present around and then it works upon constructing different faces with the help of edges and in final phase it becomes capable to recognize the shape of different faces it reads.

 

But Machine learning algorithms do not follow this sort of learning and it only helps to automate different processes based upon data provided to it.
