Whenever you read an email and a spam filter saves you from having to wade through tones of spam, again that's possible because your computer has gained insight to distinguish spam from non-spam email.

So this is pure machine learning.

People are working on really exciting projects like getting robots to tidy up the house.

So this all can be done by making robots learn things by performing in front of them. 

Whenever you pick any object, robots can learn from that and where to put them and try to do the same thing even when you aren't available.
