Puppet is a configuration management utility for Windows and Linux, and it performs administrative tasks such as adding users, installing packages, and updating server configurations and packages. The characteristic feature of Puppet software is the use of Master and Client servers in its architecture.
To install the Puppet software on your Windows machine, follow the below steps:
- Puppet consumes 2 GB memory, by default, and it is available in two variants including Windows and Linux
- Before you start with the installation, you will need to get the puppet-agent package from the official Puppet website
- You can either download the MSI installer or start the installation straightway on the command line
- You need to click on the installer to invoke the graphical wizard installer and follow the steps to install it on your machine
