This career option only opens with sufficient experience and skillset and is not an entry-level job profile. The pre-requisites to become a security engineer are:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in conventional fields like Computer Science and engineering, IT, Systems Engineering, or any relevant field degree holder could enter this career.
  2. Industry recommends at least 2 years of work experience in cybersecurity-related duties for example being a cybersecurity analyst, etc.
  3. Proficiency in languages like Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, C, Ruby, etc.
  4. Certifications like CISM and CISSP will work your way in advancing your career.
