Will we soon no longer need data scientists?

Is there an oversupply of data scientist? Or is the demand growing?

Data is the fuel of modern society. Humans will be generating data till the end of time and there is a need for someone to analyze that data. Data scientist is a job that is going to be in demand for the foreseeable future but the job requirements will change as time changes. The sad part is that today there are powerful tools that can perform analytics much more efficiently than humans. If you are not good with your basics then your job might be in danger but if you have strong basics and a good work ethic then you don’t have to worry about being a Data Scientist.
