What is CAP certification?

CAP stands for the Certified Authorization Professional. This certification which is provided by (ISC)² serves as a validation of the knowledge, expertise, and skills of the person who is responsible for authorizing and maintaining information systems. Certified CAP professionals formalize processes for risk assessment and come up with security requirements and documentation.

You have to successfully complete the CAP online certification course, including all assignments and projects given. You will also need to pass the exam conducted by us to receive our certification.

You need 700 points out of 1000 (70%) to crack the official CAP exam by (ISC)².

CAP exam costs $599 plus taxes. You can renew the certification each year by paying an Annual Maintenance Fees (AMFs) of US$125. (ISC)² Associates pay an AMF amounting to US$50.

To maintain the relevancy of its credentials, (ISC)² routinely updates its exams as per their process. These processes ensure the relevance of these knowledge and skill requirements with today’s information security practitioner.

The updated CAP exam will be available in English only and will be put into effect from August 15, 2021. The CAP exam will have the same number of questions and the exam duration as before. The update will not affect the experience requirement for the exam.

If you have already prepared with the old content, but are confident in your experience in the domain, then you should be able to take the new exam and pass it without much difficulty.
