OpenShift is a product whereas Kubernetes is an open-source project with strong community support. OpenShift is a paid subscription service based on clusters, whereas users of Kubernetes are at the dispense of choosing to use the projector to pay for the features and support for the Kubernetes.

Kubernetes offers more flexibility than OpenShift in terms of OS and Helm charts offer furthermore flexibility in the Kubernetes compared to inflexible templates in the OpenShift. Installing OpenShift and deploying are easy compared to Kubernetes which takes skills to install, deploy, and get going. There are lots of differences between Kubernetes and OpenShift as there are similarities.
