  • Finish a minimum of 85 percent of the training or attend an entire batch
  • Clear any of the practice exams
  • Submit and get approval on one project from our experts
  • Connect with our SMEs to get their help while completing the project in case you fail to execute it successfully in the first attempt.

This IIBA CBAP course is curated specially for Business Analysis professionals who have at least 7–10 years of working experience as Project Managers or Senior Analysis professionals.

The costs of the CBAP exam conducted by IIBA® are mentioned below:

  • Application cost: US$125, which is non-refundable, irrespective of the status of your application (whether approved or declined)
  • CBAP exam cost: US$325 for those who are IIBA members and US$4450 for those who are not

Yes. We do offer one practice test as part of this CBAP course so that you can prepare for the main IIBA certification exam easily.

Yes. The CBAP exam is one of the most difficult exams to crack. However, you will be able to crack it without breaking a sweat if you follow the correct CBAP preparation and study plan. The exam questions are based on the BABOK application version rather than the theoretical BABOK topics.

The step-by-step method you can follow for the IIBA® exam preparation is as follows:

  • Set the target date for the exam
  • Get a quick hold of BABOK®
  • Make sure that you choose the question bank properly
  • Keep a target score
  • Manage time

IIBA® does not demand a specific score to pass. However, you need to aim for at least 75 percent in all the sectors of this domain.

The CBAP® exam includes 120 questions that you are expected to answer within 3.5 hours.

You can take the exam up to three times in a year’s time. There is no waiting period between the attempts. If by chance you didn’t clear the exam all three times then you must wait until next year before you can reapply.

The Certified Business Analysis Professional certification is valid for 3 years from the examination date, and you need to renew it every 3 years to re-validate it and keep your certification active.

You must renew your certification because it expires if not properly maintained. You must earn specific CDUs, PDUs, and PD hours to maintain your certification.

CBAP Certification FAQs

How to become a certified CBAP® professional?

You need to follow the below steps to become a certified CBAP® professional:

  • Get formal training in CBAP from an IIBA® Endorsed Education Provider, such as Intellipaat.
  • Attain the IIBA membership so that you can apply for the online CBAP® exam by paying US$450
  • Receive the CBAP® certification from IIBA® after passing the exam

Intellipaat offers various Project Management courses such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Product Management, Microsoft Excel, Six Sigma, Agile, and Scrum Master programs in the domain.

CBAP is a lot harder to crack than CCBA. CBAP needs more work experience in Business Analytics. Professionals require 7500 hours in the domain in the last 10 years. And within that 900 hours each in four of the six knowledge areas. Whereas in CCBA, a Business Analyst needs to have at least seven years of experience amassing 3750 hours of work experience that also includes 900 hours each in two of the six knowledge areas.

IIBA or International Institute of Business Analysis conducts the CBAP exam globally. IIBA is a worldwide leader in Business Analysis competency guidelines. It is a renowned body globally that helps professionals, leaders, and many organizations to instill a deep understanding of various real-life business analysis scenarios.

According to ZipRecruiter.com, CBAP professionals earn an average salary of USD 114,633 in the US. This salary figure varies with the work location, skill sets, work experience, and other factors.

IIBA Code of Conduct is the various responsibilities that Business Analysts have to perform if they are planning to take up any certification from IIBA. It consists of policies, organizational roles, and practices that must be followed by proceeding with the registration process. You must abide by all the points mentioned in the Code of Conduct before registering for an IIBA exam.

Yes, you will find many dumps for the CBAP exam, but they are fraudulent. IIBA has a very secure environment and conducts exams safely with extreme security measures. Even though you come across a seemingly legit CBAP exam dump, you have only a 1% chance to clear the exam.

First of all, make sure that you meet IIBA requirements for the CBAP examination.

Then make an account in the IIBA portal with proper credentials and store your information regarding the number of hours you worked on the knowledge areas.

The following along with a very user-friendly page. In the IIBA portal, click Certifications and then My Certifications and wherein you need to fill out the form and then click the Schedule and then the Pass Exam button. After clicking the button, you will be redirected to the PSI exam scheduling page, where you could schedule the exam at your convenience.

CBAP professionals help in leveraging their expertise in the domain to full-extent to steer companies towards growth. The demand for qualified Business Analysts is continuously on the rise. This certification really sets you apart from your peers. Let me put down some points which will be different after you earned your certification:

  • You earn a better salary. According to a survey by IIBA, CBAP Certified Business Analysts earn 59% more than professionals who aren’t CBAP certified.
  • IIBA certification is internationally recognized, and earning this certified business analysis professional certification, strengthens and establishes your expertise in the domain of Business Analysts.
  • Every certification opens the door for better opportunities too along with a better salary helps you meet higher challenges.
  • Earning this certification demonstrates the consistency, continuous dedication, reliability, and efficiency you bring to the team. This is what creates demand for CBAP Certified professionals, etc.

If you are CBAP certified, it doesn’t mean that you will remain certified for a lifetime. All certifications have an expiry date. CBAP Certification from IIBA too has an expiry date. And there are various methods to renew certifications. To renew your certifications, you must maintain Units like CDU (Continuous Development Unit), PDU (Professional Development Unit), and PD Professional Development hours are required to maintain the certification. PD Hours are earned by completing educational training or other learning opportunities. CDUs are earned by participating in training opportunities, certified courses, webinars, etc. You can earn PDUs by putting efforts for educational effort towards project management.

Both the certifications are good enough. You need to be clear about your involvement in a specific domain. If you aim to stay in the business analytics domain, you can take up CBAP Certification, but if you incline more towards handling projects, then getting PMP certified is the right choice for you. Both the certifications are hard to crack and require good preparation to clear.

You can enroll in Intellipaat’s CBAP program to prepare yourself for the CBAP exam. IIBA® does not offer CBAP training and classes as of now.

IIBA members get a free copy of the BABOK® Guide Version 3 PDF. So, if you are a member, then you can easily download the copy from the main website of IIBA® for your reference. Those who are not a member can buy a copy of this guide by paying US$29.95.

The BABOK® Guide book offered by IIBA® is the main resource that offers the maximum reference material. You can also use the course material we provide at Intellipaat that is prepared totally in line with the main CBAP exam.

The signing up process for the CBAP® certification exam consists of the following two steps:

  • Submit your application, along with the non-refundable application fee, and clear the first screening process of the exam.
  • After the IIBA® assesses your skills and qualifications necessary for attempting the certification exam, you must select a suitable date for your exam from the official agency. After the reservation is approved, you will get an email with further instructions.

The time duration of the CBAP exam is three and a half hours, and there will be 120 multiple-choice questions. The exam comprises multiple questions on different case studies and focuses on testing the practical knowledge and application skills of the candidate, concerning the defined competencies for the CBAP Level 3 certification.

You will get notified of your application status from IIBA® within 2 weeks of submitting it. IIBA® checks if all the requirements for the certification are met in the application and will notify you of the result in 21 days after getting the application through email.

Yes. You must have at least 900 hours of working experience in over 4–6 core areas of CBAP to apply for the CBAP certification.

Yes. You need to complete 25 hours of professional development (PD) before submitting your application. However, it is not required for you to submit your CBAP course completion certificate along with the application.

It is not necessary for you to retake the certification exam unless it becomes void. But, CBAP professionals must complete the IIBA® Continuing Certification Requirements (CCR) program. To do so, professionals are required to have at least 60 Continuing Development Units (CDU) within the period of a 3-year CCR cycle.
