Prof. Vivek Khanzode is Professor and Dean Academics at IIM Mumbai. His academic credentials include Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Walchand College of Engineering, Sangli, and MTech and PhD in Industrial Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He has 6 years of industrial experience and 21 years of academic experience. He has handled several industrial assignments in manufacturing and supply chain leading to improvement of productivity, quality and competitiveness. He regularly conducts executive development programs in operations and supply chain management and allied areas. His research interests are in the domain of design and control of manufacturing and logistics systems and human-machine worksystems. Prof Khanzode teaches courses in the area of Operations and Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Planning and Control, Inventory and Scheduling, Business Dynamics, Simulation Modeling and Analytics.
Prof. Rosalin Sahoo is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the domain of Operations and Supply Chain Management at the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai), India. She holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and with over three years of work experience, including a post-doctoral fellowship at Pennsylvania State University, Rosalin has made significant contributions to her field. Her research interests encompass logistics, operations management, supply chain resiliency, decision support models, innovation, and entrepreneurship. She has published in esteemed international journals, presented at conferences worldwide, and received awards for her research contributions. She has previously led industry and research projects in areas such as manpower optimization, cockpit scheduling, and product-process efficiency maximization. Her experience spans diverse sectors, including FMCG/CPG, retail, airline cargo, and various national divisions of the Government of India.
Dr. Rony Mitra, working as an Assistant Professor at IIM Mumbai has a PHD from IIT Kharagpur, where he also completed his MTech. He earned his Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur and has been awarded a Silver Medal as the departmental topper of his M.Tech. program. Dr. Mitra has a specialisation in Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and Optimization. He has published his research in many reputed journals such as IJPR and Expert Systems with Applications, and co-authored a book on AI/ML in the supply chain. He has also authored several research studies in premier journals and consulted with premier Fortune 500 firms on supply chain transformation initiatives. Dr. Mitra was awarded for his contributions to supply chain innovation and analytics.
Dr. Priyanka Verma, Associate Professor at IIM Mumbai, specializes in operations and supply chain management, network design, facility planning, and risk optimization. Her research work has over 1,080 citations and includes high-impact works such as “Assessment of Pre and Post-Disaster Supply Chain Resilience” and “Supply Chain Risk Mitigation Strategies During COVID-19.” Her publications in prestigious journals provide valuable insights into resilience, risk management, and strategic decision-making. Her areas of expertise include supply chain finance, vendor relationship management, and strategic sourcing. Dr. Verma has written extensively on supply chain strategy and financial optimization and has served as a consultant to multinational corporations in creating highly robust supply chain networks. She is a gold medalist for academic proficiency in her Bachelor’s in Engineering at BIT in 2002.
Dr. Nikhil Ghag, assistant professor at IIM Mumbai, has a Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management and is an expert in sustainability, competitiveness, and MSME work system design. His research, published in journals such as Business Strategy & Development and Cleaner Logistics and Supply Chain, focuses on reverse logistics adoption and SMEs’ long-term competitiveness. He has collaborated on human development programs with agencies such as YASHADA and UNDP, and he is a member of India’s Institute of Company Secretaries. He has worked on projects involving AI-based demand forecasting, robotic warehouse automation, and intelligent logistics networks. He has been awarded for his work in intelligent logistics and has been involved in industry-sponsored research collaborations with automobile and FMCG majors to create next-generation supply chain automation frameworks. Dr. Ghag also organized programs at IIM Mumbai, with a focus on leadership and strategic management.
Dr. Rakesh D. Raut, associate professor at IIM Mumbai, has a Ph.D. from NITIE Mumbai and is a Post-Doctorate at EPFL, Switzerland. He has over 221 published research papers. His areas of work include sustainable supply chain, reverse logistics, and applications of Industry 4.0. His paper, “To Identify Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy Adoption Barriers in the Agriculture Supply Chain,” was accepted by the Journal of Cleaner Production. His lectures emphasize lowering carbon footprints, waste minimization, and incorporating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices into supply chain operations. Dr. Raut has been identified as one of the leading researchers in sustainable supply chains and has received eminent international accolades for his work on green logistics and circular economy processes. He received the Best Faculty Award—the Dr. Rakesh Agrawal Award for teaching and research excellence—in November 2018.
Prof. B. Koteswararao Naik, professor at IIM Mumbai, is a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi and is an expert in Technology Management, Intellectual Property, and Innovation. His work, including the paper “Patent Analysis of Photovoltaic Cells and Cooling Technology,” has received widespread recognition in the field. As chairman of the Centre of Innovation and Incubation at IIM Mumbai, he is a strong promoter of entrepreneurship and startup formation. At IIM Mumbai, he teaches professionals how to use data analytics to automate processes and drive supply chain innovation. He has written a number of books on operations research and supply chain analytics and has worked with international organizations to establish AI-based decision-making frameworks for supply chain automation. He was also awarded the Most Fabulous Professor award by the World HRD Congress in its 28th Annual Conference, in association with ET Now, on February 15, 2020, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, India.
Dr. Balkrishna Eknath Narkhede, professor at IIM Mumbai, is a leading expert in Industrial Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain Management, with over 140 research papers and 10,000+ citations. Some of his most notable contributions include the article “Green Talent Management to Unlock Sustainability in the Oil and Gas Sector” in the Journal of Cleaner Production. His research focuses on sustainable supply chains, lean manufacturing, and circular economy practices. He has made valuable contributions to creating cost-effective and responsive supply chain systems for global enterprises. He has been awarded several research grants for his initiatives in supply chain risk management and has collaborated with leading logistics companies to deploy AI-driven forecasting tools. Dr. Narkhede has also been a member of the editorial board of the American Journal of Industrial and Business Management.
Dr. Maheswar Singha Mahapatra, assistant professor at IIM Mumbai, has a Ph.D. from IIT Kharagpur and is an expert in robust supply chains and decision optimization. His work, published in Computers & Industrial Engineering, is on logistics and strategic supply chain management. With his knowledge, professionals are equipped to tackle actual supply chain issues.
