Can anyone explain what is Splunk used for?

Splunk is a tool that is used to enhance the monitoring, searching, analyzing, and visualizing capabilities on machine-generated big data.  Splunk has data ingestion feature i.e. to collect the unstructured data in JSON, XML formats, data indexing and searching features for faster searching and querying from the collected data. Splunk has the features to make dashboards by generating graphs and charts.
