Could someone tell me whether ethical hacking is legal or illegal?

Ethical hacking is perfectly legal and is not a crime. This is used for information gathering to assess the network strength and its vulnerabilities so that attackers don’t take advantage of such weakness to exploit the network, so that they could steal the data for personal or economic gains.

And ethical hacking is done with proper authorization and monitoring within an organization, which conducts regular penetration testing with the help of ethical hackers to gauge the security measures put in place.
