What does nm stand for?

In the Linux command line program, what does nm stands for? Does it list the symbols from object files?

I didn't find anything related in the documentation.

Wanted to know what is "name mangle"?

It is an abbreviation for the "names" or "name list".

Nm prints the name list (symbol table) of each object file in the argument list.
