Could someone tell me what is Defect in Software Testing?

A Defect in Software Testing is defined as any deviation or variation in the Software’s proper functioning, or deviation from end user’s requirements or from a business requirement. The reason for these errors or defects is because of an error while coding, and once these are changed the defects or variations gets resolved.
