Dynamic languages such as python and ruby are gaining traction in startups right now. Big companies are still on Java, .NET etc. stack. So, it not as good as it should be but it's slowly gaining momentum with each passing day.
I have seen some "python developers" doing stuff that will give you nightmares! Good developers will always write good code irrespective of the language. It's just that it's hard to go wrong with Python if you follow best practices.
