Iron Python : what are good uses for Iron Python

I have a partiality for python. however, I work in a .NET environment, so I was investigating Iron Python and considering what it would be utilized for. 

Might you be able to compose an application in it? or then again is it for adding a scripting language to your application? 

How would you all use it?

I wouldn't profess to know a particular "purpose" for IronPython yet it surely can be utilized to compose applications, and it very well may be utilized for scripting inside a larger .NET application. 

Beside whatever else, it's a helpful method of gently sliding Python developers into the universe of .NET (Why not learn C# simultaneously? Enter, the water's lovely...)
