Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert or CCIE candidates have to clear the written exam before moving to the corresponding hands-on lab exam. You do not need a particular set of skills to take a CCIE certification exam. But, you need to know the topics on the exams, and three to five years of job experience are expected before attempting certification.

You need to clear the two test sets for certification

• Written Exam: Time Duration is 120 minutes and 90 - 110 questions
• Lab Exam: 8 hours Lab exam (One day)

There are seven tracks of Expert Level certifications:

• CCDE 
• CCIE Routing & Switching
• CCIE Collaboration
• CCIE Data Center
• CCIE Security
• CCIE Service Provider
• CCIE Wireless
