Machine Learning works on two main techniques, namely, supervised learning and unsupervised learning. In supervised learning, a model is trained based on an input that is known and the output data that it has already seen. This is used to predict future outputs. In the case of unsupervised learning, the model tries to find patterns and structures in the input data to draw conclusions based on that. Regression and classification form to be a vital part of supervised learning, while clustering is a commonly used unsupervised learning methodology for performing exploratory data analysis. Based on the requirement, we can choose the type of learning algorithms. For example, if it is object detection from an image, then classification is used. If it is splitting up data into groups or clusters, then clustering is used.
