How to upsert contact without account in SalesForce?

Question

Is there any possibilities that I can upsert only the contact without an account? As because whenever I am going to create a contact it will automatically create an account also. Is there any way of it?

The relationship between contact and account is called a master-details relationship. But, in this case you can able to do it, just make sure that there are no custom restrictions. Also, you can create your Account record with a before insert trigger on contact object.
