You should know that both Bitbucket and Github are major competitors in this field. Personally I have used both Github and Bitbucket. So, I know both their advantages. Personally I did not find a lot of differences and that is why a normal user both will look almost the same.

Some of the differences that I have found are as follows:-

  • Bitbucket does not provide you inline editing whereas Github provides you inline editing and network graphs.

  • If you want to subscribe Github then it will be cheap for you but the price of bitbucket is much cheaper than GitHub.

  • Bitbucket provides you unlimited free private repositories but Github does not provide you with any free private repositories.

  • Both GitHub and Bitbucket has a UI tool.

  • Many people blame Bitbucket as plagiarized because it was released a few months after the release of Github.

  • If you will look at the popularity then Github has more users than Bitbucket.

You can know more about such kind of things if you are an absolute beginner or you have a little knowledge of GitHub in that case to learn GitHub and all its concepts such as pull request or creating a repository in detail which is necessary for a programmer you can learn it by taking up the GitHub training course. If you like to read then you can have a look at the GitHub tutorial. If you want to learn it by watching the video tutorial then you can have a look at the following tutorial:-
