Driving Table in OBIEE 11g is used to optimize the manner in which the processes of the Oracle BI Server cross-database joins in the situation wherein one of the tables in extremely small while the other is large. The BI server then queries the small table (the driving table) to get the required list of values. Further, The BI server generates another SQL with the help of a parameterized IN list consisting of the values from the previous query. In addition, you can parameterize the various queries issued to the large table in order to select matching rows.
