In Tableau I created an Area chart. I have managed to display legend for the measure values but cannot legend one for the grey line (additional measure in Rows) as I have built a dual axis chart.

Could some one guide me how this could be done. Apologies if the question is unclear. Can provide more details if need be.

This can be easily achieved in Tableau by following the below steps:

  • Choose  Analysis-> select  Legends-> Color Legend.
  • Select Worksheet -> click on Show Cards -> Reset Card.
  • Go to the space below the Marks card and right-click there and then select Legends -> Color Legend.

Note down if you have a dual-axis then turn the transparency to the highest of 100% in the first pill otherwise the color in the legend would not show up.

Make the right move by enrolling now in Tableau Online Course to learn it.
