What is Azure Cloud Service?

Can anyone help me what "Azure cloud services" means? As because it is quite confusing as I am not able to see this service on the azure portal, but it was there when I was going through a document. Any idea where to find it?

Basically, Azure cloud service is type of platform as a service earlier. When Azure started on 2008, it only offer Compute option which contains Virtual machines, Websites etc. So, using cloud services you can able to run web applications. Nowadays, Azure offers App service to create a web applications. So, if you want to create a new app, go for app services instead of cloud services.
