What is a Tableau Extract? How to Create and Use Tableau Extracts

Tableau Data Extracts

To improve performance and data to allow for more advanced capabilities and to analyze offline you can use tableau data extracts which are saved subsets of a data source. You can make a Tableau data extract by defining filters and limits that contain the data you want in the Tableau extract.

After creating a Tableau data extract you can refresh it through data from the original data source. You can either refresh the data, replacing all of the tableau data extract contents or you can increment the tableau extracts, which only add rows that are novel since the last refresh.

Go through the Tableau course to get a clear understanding of Tableau.
